Randfontein is a club with a long and proud history. The original ride base was the Randfontein Show Grounds with the ride being mostly ridden on the Randfontein Estates Mine property. When the mine property was no longer accessible, a new ride was developed in the surrounds of Randfontein but the search for a new base began.
Randfontein now rides from the R28 Resort in Jachtfontein, crossing approximately 5 farms in the area. The ride base can accommodate more horses and riders than ever before and the first ever ride in October was completed successfully. The mission of the club is to host rides that offer challenges to experienced riders and horses whilst newcomers can enjoy a “novice friendly” course with excellent scenery and ride base facilities. Randfontein also conducts Competitive Trail Rides as this is seen as the perfect entry point to endurance for young and novice horses and riders, whilst offering competitive opportunities for riders who do not want to "race" but still enjoy long-distance riding. This site offers information on our course, a gallery of photos from rides, downloads such as our newsletters and ERASA documents, our contact details and links to sites we have found while browsing the web. We have also got a Novice section full of advice for riders on training, feeding, what happens at a ride, what equipment you need, etc. |
