The club ride took place on 16 April 2011 and it turned out to be another wet day for Randfontein. One of the hardest decisions to make was whether or not to continue the ride. However, both ERASA and FEI rules indicate that a ride should only be cancelled under extreme circumstances—after all, that is what endurance is all about. Even so, every rider needs to make their own decision about whether or not to continue. Only the rider will know their own horse’s tolerance, fitness levels, etc. Thus, 69 riders chose to start the ride of which 60 completed. |
